Myths About Indian

Stumbled upon an amazing book. Myths of South American Indians, published, what else, faculty member of Ethnography of the European University. YE Berezkin in 1994 Here's an example:

SON
morning, the person woke up and said:
- I had a tapir.
- Tapir? This is how - tell us, please! - Began to beg
relatives.
- Here I'm walking through the forest, - meet an Indian - and I see:
fallen tree crushed tapir. Oh, and I ate meat!
- Why do not you try - go to forest, suddenly
really find tapir?
- perhaps - answered the man. He immediately went to
forest. As he walked along the trail, the wind knocked a tree. It fell and crushed
Indian. Relatives waiting for him, waited, went to look for.
found the body.
- Let's go look for tapir - they decided.
were looking for here, looking there, too, have found. This was bad
tapir.
